Pithy & Poignant

Why Pithy & Poignant? That’s exactly what I was thinking. Those don’t exactly align. But I love alliterations so I thought, “Why not?”

As I approach the 100th episode of my favorite podcast (and maybe yours too?) Being in a nostalgic mood, I thought I would look back and see what are some of the more pithy and poignant statements made over the last two years.

Pithy

Bridget Willard on Dating
Dating in your 50s? It’s not Netflix and chill. It’s dine… and that’s enough.

Dan Knauss on Clients
Solutions architect? Sure. Problems architect? That’s the client.

Sabrina Zeidan on Independence
Partners come and go. The middle of nowhere stays.

Zach Hendershot on Being Tall
Being tall just means you know how dusty everyone’s fridge really is.

Anne-Mieke Bovelett on Fear
See a bear in the road? Hug it.
And remember – if you don’t shoot, you always miss.

Donata Stroink-Skillrud on Coding
I don’t touch the codebase. I prefer liking my life.

Matt Graham on AI (and Life)
I’ll be fine with AI overlords. I’ve been polite.
Also – we’re not dirty… just messy.

Stephanie Hudson on Personality
I’m all crust. You’ve got to work to get to the good stuff.
And no – I don’t settle.

Christine Clauder on First Impressions
I may look unapproachable. Then I start talking. I cuss. That helps.

Vito Peleg on Mindset
Being the victim isn’t a strategy. It’s a dead end.

Poignant

Eric Karkovack on Letting Go
Sometimes love means saying goodbye.
We cried together… because it was the only way to end his pain.

Anna Hurko on War
The first night without air raid alarms?
Sleep felt unreal. Almost like a miracle.

Sabrina Zeidan on Survival
Some nights you choose comfort.
Some nights you choose safety.
And some nights… you wonder if it’s a good day to die.

Cory Miller on Staying Alive
I just kept breathing.
Long enough to meet my grandsons… and realize that was everything.

Stacy L. Carlson on Normalcy
Cancer. Three days after 9/11.
Twelve miles from Ground Zero.
I kept working – because normal was all I had left.

Anne-Mieke Bovelett on Accessibility
A father just wanted one week…
to use the internet without asking for help.
That was enough to change everything.

Stephanie Hudson on Life
I didn’t know I was close to dying.
Now every day feels like something I get to keep.

Mike Auteri on Childhood
The water came fast.
We were rescued by boat…
the same day my sister was born.
