I am fond of saying that Seriously, BUD? features an unexpected conversation from someone in the WordPress community.
But just what is an “unexpected conversation”? Here’s my take.
Sure, I’d love my guests to tell me things that hardly anyone knows. Things like, “I am a junkie (I am — a new junkie),” “I have gone bankrupt twice” (I did have a guest admitting to one bankruptcy – and I bet there have been more than one as a guest), “I had an abortion when I was 13,” or “I was a victim of…” well, I’ll leave that to your imagination.
Pressable delivers fast, secure, and reliable managed WordPress hosting you can count on.
You have no idea how many times a guest has said — just before I hit the record button — “My life is an open book. Ask me anything.” My standard reply is, “Your life is not an open book, and you know it.”
Neither should it be.
We all have private matters that we wish to keep private. I certainly do. What I choose to share with my audience is my business, and the same goes for my guests. I respect that – even though I am going to try and get guests to say something revealing, but not something they wish they hadn’t said and then ask me not to publish. That has happened more than once. My lips are sealed.
So, what is that “unexpected conversation” as it applies to Seriously, BUD? It’s pretty simple. It can start with an unexpected question, but it always ends with an unexpected answer.
